10 for '10

Normally I mentally "set" my New Year's Resolution in my head and do not share. That way if I wander from it I do not feel so guilty. Could be why I also am not so good at sticking to them. But this year I decided if I BLOG them and put them out there for ALL to see I may be better and achieving my goals for 2010.

So here they are, My 10 for 10!

1. Spend more quality time with my family
I do a lot with my kids, but most of it seems like we run all over doing this and that. Or we spend a lot of down time watching movies. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I just want to get back to some basics. For example going to the park, or doing fun projects, having "dates" with each child. Etc.

2. Loose this freakin baby weight + some
I have not been happy with my body weight for a couple of years. And i know this is such a cliche resolution. When I started a decent work out routine I found out I was pregnant. Then I was stressed. So many excuses. No more! My BFF Amber is getting married in June on the beach and I am the Maid of Honor, I WILL NOT BE THE BEACHED WHALE!!!!! I will walk, I will stop with the Pepsi's, I will not eat because I am bored/stressed/ lonely, I will take the fruit verses the cookie...

3. Go Green
Why not?! Every little bit helps. I want to buy the reusable bags and USE them. Put another trash can in my home for recycling. It will be good for the whole family and our Earth.

4. Save Money
This past year has been very tight. We had to borrow money ( which I hate) at times to help make ends meet. Our savings is gone and it needs to be replenished. So I will start by putting some away each pay check.

5. Stick to a Budget
I made a very reasonable budget last year. It was even put on a spread sheet. I save all my receipts and already keep track of a majority of what we spend. Now I just have to STICK to the plan!

6. Make Time for Me!
It may sound self centered, but I have lost "me" in the last 10 years. I don't need anything extravagant. Just a pedi by myself every now and again, a night out with the girls, or even a purchase that is just for me (note to self see #5).

7. ORGANIZE my Home and Garage
I used to be pretty organized. I like things clean. My "perfect" home would be like the models you walk into. I know that is not achievable, but darn it I will get the crap organized! I just took a small step as I took down the Christmas decor. Everything went into clear bins, with labels and was packed by room. For example all the hall/ bath decor is in one box, the linens etc. My dad has been "voluntold" to help with my garage: )

8. Scrap!
Not crazy... but I would like to get the big girls school albums done. Even if I only get to it once a month!

9. Blog
I do love it. I have always loved to write and journal. It is kind of a therapy for me. Weird I know! Yet I sometimes feel the pressure of having to blog or things just get crazy. And sometimes I find myself torn between what is happening at the time and do not want to break away. Most of these recent entries have been by my son's bedside while he recovers from his surgery. But I hope to blog more frequently then I have been.

10. Cherish these Moments...
Because they are going fast! My grandfather was recently placed in a nursing home and I think of him everyday. He has dimentia and has become too much for my dear grandma (married for 63 years!!!) to handle. And in the big picture of everything, isn't that what is all about?

Phew! I can do this!
Good luck to many of you and your resolutions.
Happy 2010
