Our Spring Break was pretty laid back. Normally we are all over the place visiting/ traveling...I just have no energy. But my beautiful children make up for that! For example, twas the last week of Spring Break when all was clam in the Fisher home. Prestton had laid down for his morning power nap, Trynnity was snuggled up with mom and dad, and the big girls....WHAT!!#*** IS GOING ON???? No one can ever be on the same page. They are as loud as can be slamming into walls and sounding like the furniture is going to fall apart. I tell them to go play farther away from the nursery and to settle down (jeez, I sound more and more like a mommy with every kid I get). Off they RUN through the house to the playroom, playing a "game". Billy and I are talking and they keep getting louder. I get up and start to walk down the hall only to be meant by Baylee holding her hand over her mouth and crying. I keep thinking "didn't I just say settle down?!" I ask my 2 innocent daughters what happened all the while trying to peel away Bee's hand. "We were playing." "It was just a game." "She threw it first..." You get the idea? Looking down I see little white pieces...gum??..in Baylee's hand. OHHHHH NOOOOOO. It is half of her front (front!!!!!!) permanant tooth. Trying to remain calm I take a closer look and feel my eyes starting to brim over. All I can think about is her sweet smile never being the same again. Than, is this fixable? Is the nerve exposed? Is she in pain? I should have been more firm or re-directed faster, and of course, how much money is this going to be to get it fixed! Being a Sunday, I get no immediate answer to the buzzing questions.
So how did this happen you ask? The "game" was to catch the "frisbee" aka Trynnity's pretend plastic play plates. And whack- right in the mouth by super diva Devy to big Sissy Bee she gets a homerun Of course being my mellow dramatic actress, Devynn burst into a show of tears, sobs and apologies (Billy and I both could not help but to laugh at thhis point because it was very over the top). We did not have the heart to punish either girl- one with a missing teeth and an excelerated heart rate were enough.
So the folowing Friday we find ourselves in the dentist office. 2 1/2 hours later we have a "like new" temporary filling on Baylee's front tooth. We have to keep an eye on it and make sure the remaining part of the tooth does not discolor or die.She will go back in a few years after she looses more of her baby molars and the braces get placed on and off to get a permanant crown. I was just thankful that you really can not tell the bottom part was ever damaged or fake. It looks GREAT! Can you beleive that?!
