Prestton Update

Just a quick note to catch everyone up on Prestton's kidney issue. He was born with hydrophenous (I have no idea how to spell that). Basically, his right kidney is not working properly. His latest ultrasound showed that it has not gotten worse- it actually looks a little better. But it appears that there maybe a blockage. So we are scheduled for a renal scan on May 8th. This will help the doctor identify if it is blocked or if it simply not working. In which case they will want to remove it due to the fact it will be more prone to infection. They will put him to sleep for all of this because he is suppose to be still for about 30 minutes! Needless to say I feel like I am in a spinning ball, but trying to be positive and strong. Our other issue now is his reflux. We went to his 6 month check up and he has only gained about an ounce in 2 months. That puts us in the <3% for his age/ weight. Our pediatrician ran a quick blood test and did a cath to check his urine; all came back positive. However we are still concerned how much food he is actually getting. So we will also be heading back to the hospital for a full upper and lower GI work up. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers...I know in my heart that things will be o.k. (it is just all the "stuff" we have to go through to get that beautiful good bill of health).
